Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for more than 20 years. Swift's stories of romance and love at first sight have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift began showing an enthusiasm for the industry of music as early as age. Swift's career grew rapidly from children's play roles and her first public appearance crowds of people. Swift was eleven years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. The following year, she began writing songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift created original music inspired by the country music of musicians like Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) as well as Dixie Chicks. Her material expressed Swift's feelings about tweens being apathetic. Swift was 13 when her parents decided to dispose of their Pennsylvania farm and move into Hendersonville Tennessee. She could dedicate all her time to reaching out to the country music labels that were based in Nashville.
